April 13th Pass Along Tuesday

Today's Pass Along Tuesday is all about getting organized. I know who wants to do that but guess what we all need to do this, surprisingly it can make your life a little easier. I found a few sites that give some great ideas to get a jump start on being better organized. I'll share 5 different sites on organization and then I will give 5 ideas that I have used in my own home to keep things better organized.

  1. Melinda Joy shares 10 tips for managing and organizing your family. See her tips Here.
  2. Meet Andrea the 365 day organizer, she really has it together when it comes to organizing. See her amazing site Here.
  3. Joy has some great ideas to better use a closet and how to utilize your space. Check it out Here.
  4. This is my favorite: 6 ideas for organizing your home with plastic containers. Read on how to do that Here.
  5. Check out this organizing dork Here. She has some great ideas to keep us all in check!
Here are just a few of my helpful hints.

  1. Use baskets of all sizes depending on the size in the area. For my hall closet I use a square size with handles to store things like toilet paper, soaps, lotions, bandages, and anything small that could get lost in a big closet. This just makes it nice to find stuff and to be able to keep it clean. I also love baskets for toys, each basket holds something new. They look great on a bookshelf and it makes it great for clean up.
  2. If you like getting those cooking magazines like I do then you'll know that they take up a lot of room and are a pain to go through every time you want to try something new. So my solution is easy, go through each magazine and pic out the ones you like and will probably try. Just cut them out with an exact o knife and make piles of different categories. Once you've done that buy a extra large binder and some plastic sleeves, then you can start organizing for magazine recipes. I also do this with my scrapbook magazines, save you favorite ideas so you can go back later when your designing a new layout to get new ideas.
  3. If your kids like to do crafts as much as mine do then you need away to keep everything straight. I have a container for paper, one for just pencils, one for markers, one for crayons, one for stickers, I think you get my point. I just makes it really easy for them to pull out what they want to use and then it also makes for an easy clean up and I think we all love that idea.
  4. Shoes are a girls best friend and we need to make sure we keep them protected. I use clear containers for my shoes so I can see right through them that way I know which pair I'm getting.
  5. Have you ever started to play a game and all the pieces are not there. Well that is something that really drives me crazy. I like to make sure that all the pieces are put into zip lock bags when we are finished playing and then put into the box. That way the game lasts longer and all your pieces are always there.
Thanks your checking us out this Tuesday, I hope we gave you some food for thought and maybe just maybe you'll start organizing today! Have a great week see ya back here next Tuesday for something new!

March 30th Pass Along Tuesday

Have you ever asked yourself this question, What do I do with my old Jeans? I have been asking myself this question for a few months now while I have been cleaning out my drawers. So I thought this might be something others might think about when jean get worn out or they just don't fit like they used to. Well instead of packing them up and giving them to good will you might just be able to find a new use for them. So take a little look at what you could do.

This first one is a tip on how to shred your own jeans. I've always wanted to do this myself but was to scared to try it. Well this crafty lady sure makes it look easy and I might just give it a try. Learn how to shred your blue jeans Here.

Look at this cute little jean pocket for your gadgets. Just the right little purse for your daughter or a gift for a friend to hold their little electronic toys. The tutorial on this is way easy to follow and you could knock this out in no time. Check it out Here.

Have you ever thought about making your own jean skirt? Maybe, maybe not but it sure looks easy and she tells you where to get a free sewing pattern for it. Give it a try, you could end up with a cool skirt to lounge around in. See it Here.

Okay, you saw the one for adults now check out the one for kids. How cute is this little skirt with the flowers and everything, I might just want to make this for my little girl. This crafty lady also has some other ideas you might just want to check out too. Have a look see Here.

If you don't want to try a whole skirt then just do a half of one for an apron. You could dress it up however you want, it could be all decked out or just old time country. See the tutorial Here.

I love a good jean quilt, my husbands grandma made one for him and I just love it. They are so warm and what a great blanket to have at the cabin or even at the beach. This crafty lady used jeans and flannel shirts, what a great combination for a blanket. Check out her quilt Here.

Now I'm a scrapbooker but I've never seen this before. And the funny thing is, I just have to steal this idea. What a fun idea to use the buckle loops as an embellishment, genius! See this idea Here.

What a fun project for you and your daughter to do together. What little girl doesn't want a cool notebook cover and one they can pick out their own embellishments for. Definitely a fun easy Saturday project, have fun with it. Get the list of things you will need Here.

Check out these cute baby jean pants, made out of an old jean shirt. Look at her other cute baby jean pants Here.

Since my girls are into these hair flowers I just had to check this one out. I'm all about making something new for their hair. My girls are into the sparkle so I would probably put a jem in the middle instead of a button. See her idea Here.

Look at this cute little pocket, I might just have to have one of these. They give great step by step instructions on how to put one together. How fun would this be to pick out different iron-ons and make for a few friends. See how easy this is to put together Here.

I just loved finding all these cool ways to reuse my old denim, I sure hope you can find this useful and create something new!

Calling All Ladybugs Party

I have a little girl who just loves Lady Bugs. So it wasn't hard for me to come up with a theme for her 6th birthday party. Before I started my search for the lady bug accessories I found these cute Thank You notes that I turned into the party invites, I think they turned out pretty cute.

Once we got the invites out I went on a search for anything Lady Bug. I have to say it was difficult to find anything locally so I had to go to old faithful, the internet. I'm sure most of you have heard of BirthdayExpress.com well they had all I needed to put together a great Lady Bug party. They had two options to choose from the pink, black & green or the traditional red & black, we chose pink, black & green with a few touches of red & black. I really liked how it all turned out, the colors looked great.

The Birthday Sign
I didn't want a banner for this party but I thought a sign would be fun to invite the kids in. So my very artistic mom bought some corrdinating paper to match the lady bug off the plates and designed her own lady bug. Then I cut the letters out with my cricut and added them to the sign. We just loved how it turned out.

It was a great weekend so I wanted to hold it outside which turned out to be the best choice.

The table place settings and the lady bug boxes with fun coordinating toys to take home.

A local bakery put together a beautiful cake for our lady bug theme.

And the Birthday Girl! I found some lady bug iron-ons and I thought it would be fun to design her a shirt. Then my mind started going and I just had to make something fun for all the girls. That's where I got the idea of making each girl a tutu skirt, so as they came into the party we put a skirt on them along with an antenna headband. All the girls were so excited so it made all that work worth it. A big thanks to my mom for helping me with sewing the skirts.

I found some foam lady bug kits so the girls could put together their very own lady bug.

It was nice to take a break in the shade for presents. I always like to have the girls sitting beside the birthday girl while they open the present they picked out for them.

Finally, it's time to blow out the candles!

This party turned out great, I loved putting it together and it was worth all the work that went into it. Thanks for all those that helped out and made this party successful, Mariah had a blast!

*Since I posted some great ideas for Baby Showers on my blog I just wanted to share this party with all of you too. Maybe this will inspire you for a party your thinking of having.

March 23 Pass Along Tuesday

Here we are with another Tuesday surprise, today it's all about Baby Showers. The reason I chose this topic this week is because my sister in law called me this week to give us her exciting news. Now this will be her 4th but her youngest is soon to be 8 so she will be in need of a few things. I told her to leave it up to me to host this special event so as you could guess my wheels started turning and I wanted to take a look see to what was out there for ideas. I sure found some very creative ideas and can't wait to start planning the shower for my sister in law! Take a look this is what I found.

First one up is this way cute sports theme party, the parents must be really big fans of Michigan Basketball. I don't know if I would be into a sports theme like this but I have to tell you it works and the way they put everything together, I really do love it. It's these kinds of party's when you think out of the box that make them a big hit. See the rest of the party Here.

Doesn't this cake say it all, the theme is Baby Gone Wild. This was a tastefully done party, not to over the top but just the right touch to a beautiful shower. I so love the idea behind this shower, check out rest of it Here.

If you are one of those luck moms that get to bring twins or triplets into this world, then this is a great theme for you. The theme is Peas In A Pod, how cute it that to celebrate triplets but I'm sure you could pull it off with twins too. I think this is a fun inspired theme and they did a wonderful job with the very cute decorations. Check out the Peas in a Pod Here.

Who wouldn't love going to a baby shower where you get to make your own sundae. What a fun idea since the mom liked the whole pickles and ice cream thing. I really liked all the simple but fun decor, check it out Here.

Now this is my kind of party, a Dr. Seuss themed baby shower. Don't you just want to start licking one of those suckers, it just makes my mouth water. I love this idea and the decorations are amazing definitely my favorite by far. Check out all the amazing pics Here. Penny you just might be getting yourself a Dr. Seuss Shower!

I'm a sucker for baby diaper cakes, I don't know why but I just think they are the perfect center piece that can be put to good use later. This site is called Kara's Party Ideas and she has some wonderful ideas to try. Especially this baby shower, she really has some great touches to make this day special. Have a look at her site Here.

These colors really are perfect for the arrival of a little man. This party was held outside and they used a cute idea of hanging clothes on a line for just the perfect touch. I loved the simple but elegant way this was set up. Check out the rest of the event Here.

Are you thinking what I am? Man this is a great spread, they went to a lot of work finding just the right treats. Every detail was planed to a tee and it defiently shows, I love how they thought everything out. Another one of my favorites, just have a look see Here.

I know another diaper cake but I just couldn't resist this party. The theme is Potty Like A Rock Star and when I saw that I just had to share it. I think the whole skull with a pink bow is just a perfect idea, one that could be used not only for a why cool baby shower but a teen party too. Check out this cooler then cool party idea Here.

I was just able to attend a very classy well put together shower like this one the other day. I like the idea of a sit down luncheon and the elegant decorations really set the mood. If you want style this is the way to go, your party will be talked greatly about. Check out what they have to share Here.

I found so many great ideas and wished I could share them all with you but since I am a girl all about the number 10, then that's what you get 10 fabulous ideas! You don't always have to go all out for an event but you can use some of these ideas to help put your own amazing party together no matter what its for. Happy planning!!! Have an amazing Tuesday!
