Calling All Ladybugs Party

I have a little girl who just loves Lady Bugs. So it wasn't hard for me to come up with a theme for her 6th birthday party. Before I started my search for the lady bug accessories I found these cute Thank You notes that I turned into the party invites, I think they turned out pretty cute.

Once we got the invites out I went on a search for anything Lady Bug. I have to say it was difficult to find anything locally so I had to go to old faithful, the internet. I'm sure most of you have heard of BirthdayExpress.com well they had all I needed to put together a great Lady Bug party. They had two options to choose from the pink, black & green or the traditional red & black, we chose pink, black & green with a few touches of red & black. I really liked how it all turned out, the colors looked great.

The Birthday Sign
I didn't want a banner for this party but I thought a sign would be fun to invite the kids in. So my very artistic mom bought some corrdinating paper to match the lady bug off the plates and designed her own lady bug. Then I cut the letters out with my cricut and added them to the sign. We just loved how it turned out.

It was a great weekend so I wanted to hold it outside which turned out to be the best choice.

The table place settings and the lady bug boxes with fun coordinating toys to take home.

A local bakery put together a beautiful cake for our lady bug theme.

And the Birthday Girl! I found some lady bug iron-ons and I thought it would be fun to design her a shirt. Then my mind started going and I just had to make something fun for all the girls. That's where I got the idea of making each girl a tutu skirt, so as they came into the party we put a skirt on them along with an antenna headband. All the girls were so excited so it made all that work worth it. A big thanks to my mom for helping me with sewing the skirts.

I found some foam lady bug kits so the girls could put together their very own lady bug.

It was nice to take a break in the shade for presents. I always like to have the girls sitting beside the birthday girl while they open the present they picked out for them.

Finally, it's time to blow out the candles!

This party turned out great, I loved putting it together and it was worth all the work that went into it. Thanks for all those that helped out and made this party successful, Mariah had a blast!

*Since I posted some great ideas for Baby Showers on my blog I just wanted to share this party with all of you too. Maybe this will inspire you for a party your thinking of having.
